Alphanim’s new animated series Zap Jr. High premieres on Sept. 2 during the Sunday morning kids’ block on France’s M6. The free broadcaster will air two 13-minute episodes back to back, taking over for cable/satellite channel Canal J, which had had an exclusive window since March.
Zap Jr. High is the first co-production between Alphanim with M6. The show is based on the series of hit comic books from French duo T’hem & Gildo and published by Gl’nat. Volume 4 of the comic book is scheduled for release on
Sept. 25 in French-speaking Europe.
All 53 13-minute episodes of Zap Jr. High have also been picked up for broadcast on AVRO in the Netherlands and VRT in Belgium. Alphanim hopes to secure more broadcast deals worldwide at the upcoming MIPCOM in Cannes. On the licensing side, M6 Interactions has secured a BTS and stationery deal
with Tenessee, which will release the products in France in 2008.
