Tiger Aspect Joins Milkshake’s ‘Stan & Gran’ as Co-Producer

Banijay Kids & Family (Totally Spies!, Mr Bean: The Animated Series) announced that its Tiger Aspect Kids & Family studio will co-produce the wildlife-anchored animated mystery-adventure series, Stan & Gran, alongside Jollywise and Xentrix Studios.

“It’s a challenging time for the animation industry, so it’s a privilege to come onboard to ensure brilliant shows like this continue to be made,” said Benoît Di Sabatino, CEO, Banijay Kids & Family. “Stan & Gran is a project we’re deeply passionate about and with the combined strengths of the highly experienced teams of Tiger Aspect Kids & Family and our co-production partners, we know it will be a hit.”

Tom Beattie, MD, Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, added, “I’ve known Jon [Mason] at Jollywise for a long time and saw the charming Stan & Gran in its infancy, so it’s a pleasure to join this beautifully crafted show alongside Natalie, whose tenacity has been instrumental in bringing it to life. We’re eager to begin production with Natalie, Jollywise and Xentrix Studios, to deliver an exceptional series to the partners around the world.”

Stan & Gran is described as a funny and heartwarming CG animation following the adventures of seven-year-old Stan and his 71-year-old Gran, as they investigate the mysterious goings-on in the fictional coastal town of Porthole.

Commissioned by 5’s preschool strand Milkshake!, the 52 x 11’ series created by Jon Mason will commence production this month under Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, with Natalie Adams (formerly Llewellyn) and Jon Mason serving as executive producers. Banijay Kids & Family Distribution, which secured global distribution rights last year, has confirmed pre-sales with Nickelodeon UK, ABC Australia, RTE Ireland, SVT Sweden, BBC Alba and S4C Wales.

“We are thrilled that Stan & Gran has found a new home,” said Jon Mason, series creator and Jollywise’s Founder & MD. “We get to continue our journey. We couldn’t be in safer hands, it’s such a magical, important and funny show, we just can’t wait for kids and families to be able to enjoy it.”

Nandish Domlur, CEO, Xentrix Studios, commented, “We are delighted to be back on track to narrate this endearing story of Stan & Gran! We extend a big shout-out to Benoît and his team at Banijay Kids & Family for providing a new home. We’re also incredibly excited to work with Tom and the Tiger Aspect Kids & Family team, alongside Natalie and Jon, on this fresh chapter of Stan & Gran.”

Tiger Aspect Kids & Family have just launched the second half of their comedy quest adventure series Super Happy Magic Forest (BBC, Rai, Canal+, ZDF, ABC) and are in production of series 4 of Mr Bean: The Animated Series, which launched this month on Boomerang and ITVX.
