Adult Swim Celebrates Indie Animation with Independence Day SMALLS Block

The freedom to make unpredictable, experimental, hilarious animated shorts will ring out this Independence Day on Adult Swim! A linear block of Adult Swim SMALLS toons will share episodes from some of the digital shorts initiative’s most popular series, kicking off Friday, July 4 at midnight.

The collection includes episodes from…

Mandal Takes an L / Boom Dude — From awkward school situations in Mandal Takes an L, to on-the-job accidents in Boom Dude, there’s something here to embarrass everybody.

  • Mandal Takes an L is created by Mandal, a stand-up comedian, writer and actor from Atlanta, and animator/editor/musician Clay Skinner (a.k.a. Gmastuff).
  • Boom Dude is created by Heck Studio (Michael Van Swearingen and Peter Steineck).

Peter Hair / Munch Rexford — One is losing hair, the other is hunting hare. Both are on an adventure to explore masculinity and new beginnings.

  • Peter Hair is created by Uncle Shortbread, a filmmaking duo based in London (Arthur Studholme and Cosmo Wellings).
  • Munch Rexford is created by writer, comedian and artist Millie Holten.

Squatters — Hollywood star Steve Keester has to deal with a random guy squatting in his house and an interdimensional tribe living under his sink.

  • Created by Ben Kuhlmann, “basically this guy who makes cartoons.”

Dewdge Center / The Fit — Rock n Roll reigns eternal at Dewdge Center, but relaxation is king when it comes to The Fit.

  • Dewdge Center is created by Brooks Allison, a writer, musician and Billboard-charting producer based in Brooklyn, NY.
  • The Fit is created by Terrence White, an artist and animator living on the outskirts of Atlanta.
