‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Is Officially Netflix’s Most Popular Animated Movie of All Time

Another week, another Top 10 list from Netflix, another stellar victory for KPop Demon Hunters worth singing about!

For the period of July 21-27, 2025, Netflix’s numbers show that the Sony Pictures Animation-produced movie racked up another 26.3 million views in its sixth week of release. KPop has now claimed the No. 2 spot on the English Film List (behind new release Happy Gilmore 2, starring Adam Sandler) and claimed the title of Netflix’s most popular animated film of all time. Rumi, Mira and Zoey also rocked their way onto Top 10 lists in all countries ranked by Netflix.

The movie’s original music continues to reign supreme as well, with HUNTR/X’s “Golden” back at No. 1 on the Billboard global charts.

Directed by Maggie Kang (head of story, The LEGO Ninjago Movie), who directs with Chris Appelhans (Wish Dragon), KPop Demon Hunters centers on a trio of Kpop superstars (voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo) who moonlight as demon hunters as they face their biggest enemy yet — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise (led by Business Proposal star Ahn Hyo-seop).

That’s how it’s done, ladies!

On Netflix’s series rankings, it was a big week for anime. The Japanese-produced Sanrio show My Melody & Kuromi premiered in the No. 2 spot for non-English TV with 4.3 million views. Season 2 of supernatural comedy Dan Da Dan came in at No. 3 with 3.1 million views, and the tale of a demon-blooded dude out to avenge his adoptive father’s assassination, Tougen Anki, slid into No. 10 with 1.6 million views.

Also of note, Season 2 of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel adaptation The Sandman came in at No. 4 on the English TV charts in its third week of release. No. 1 was UntamedSquid Game Season 3 topped the Non-English shows list.
