Timed to the launch of the animated adult comedy’s official trailer, Netflix announced today that Long Story Short has been greenlit for a second season ahead of the series premiere on August 22. The show, which tracks a group of siblings and their family through different points in their lives, is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman), with Lisa Hanawalt (Tuca & Bertie) as supervising producer.
“Wow!! A Season 2?! And Season 1hasn’t even come out yet! It must be a really good show,” Bob-Waksberg commented on the news. “I can’t wait to watch it when it premieres on Netflix, Friday, August 22! Let’s all do that!”
Logline: Long Story Short is an animated comedy from the creator of BoJack Horseman about one family, over time. Jumping through the years, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys and compromises.
The voice cast features Lisa Edelstein as Naomi Schwartz, Paul Reiser as Elliott Cooper, Ben Feldman as Avi Schwooper, Abbi Jacobson as Shira Schwooper, Max Greenfield as Yoshi Schwooper, Angelique Cabral as Jen, Nicole Byer as Kendra Hooper, and recurring guests Dave Franco as Danny Wegbreit and Michaela Dietz as Hannah Schwooper.
Bob-Waksberg is showrunner, writer and executive producer on Long Story Short; Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen are exec producers; Hanawalt is supervising producer; Emmy winner Jack Shih (South Park) is supervising director.
The 10 x 30′ first season is produced by Tornante Television with animation by ShadowMachine (Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley are co-exec producers).
