Sony Pictures Animation (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) today unveiled a new teaser trailer for GOAT, its upcoming CG-animated family film produced by NBA star Stephen Curry. The new preview offers a look at the film’s stylized 3D animation while introducing the animal denizens of wannabe baller Will’s world, as well as a taste of the fast and furry action of “roarball.” A new still was also dropped.
In collaboration with the NBA, Sony Pictures Animation will release GOAT theatrically on February 13, 2026, timed for NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles (Feb. 13–15).
Synopsis: GOAT is an original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball — a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”
With the just-announced additions joining the team, GOAT features the voices of Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) as Will the goat, Gabrielle Union (Being Mary Jane) as Jett the black leopard, Stephen Curry (Mr. Throwback) as Lenny the giraffe, Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton) as Olivia the ostrich, Nick Kroll (Big Mouth) as Modo the Komodo dragon, David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Archie, Jenifer Lewis (Spellbound) as team owner Florence Everson, Aaron Pierre (Mufasa: The Lion King), Patton Oswalt (The Sandman) as Coach Dennis, Andrew Santino (Royal Crackers), Bobby Lee (MADtv), Eduardo Franco (Gabby’s Dollhouse), Sherry Cola (Good Trouble), hip hop/country artist Jelly Roll and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls).
Directed by Emmy-nominated Tyree Dillihay (Bob’s Burgers, Good Times) and co-directed by Adam Rosette (story artist on Dog Man, The Wild Robot, The Bad Guys), GOAT is produced by Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton of Unanimous Media; Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Adam Rosenberg and Rodney Rothman of Modern Magic, with Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder as executive producers.
