Antonucci’s Dim Kids Get Picked Up

It looks like Danny Antonucci’s superzeroes of suburbia will be continuing their zany reign on Cartoon Network. Antonucci’s Ed, Edd n Eddy series, which premiered in January 1999, has been picked up for another season on the cabler, it was announced recently.

Indie animator Antonucci and his team at Vancouver-based studio A.K.A Cartoon are currently working on three special half-hour episodes of the eccentric toon (Ed, Edd n Eddy Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Halloween specials).

The Annie Award-nominated series recently ranked #1 for its time period, for boys 6-11 and boys 2-11 and tied for #1 in kids 2-11 demo, and viewer numbers have jumped 38% since last year. A.K.A Cartoons will be celebrating its 10th anniversary “of animation infamy” on April Fool’s Day.
