Freeman and Banks Join ‘Lego’ Movie Voice Cast

Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman have joined the voice cast for Warner Bros.’ upcoming feature Lego: The Piece of Resistance, according to Deadline.com. The animation/live-action movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs).

The movie centers on Emmet (Chris Pratt) a construction worker who is mistaken for the Builder. The Lego crew then embarks on a quest to prevent an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together. Freeman is reported as playing a blind sage described as Gandalf meets Mr. Magoo, while Banks will play Pratt’s ex-girlfriend.

Will Arnett (Arrested Development) and Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) were originally considered to voice Lego Batman and Lego Superman respectively, but their commitment to the project hasn’t been confirmed. Lego: The Piece of Resistance is scheduled to be released on February 28th, 2014.
