Comedy legend Bill Murray has joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming live-action/CG revamp of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, playing Mowgli’s best ursine bud Baloo. The film is due out in 3D and standard theaters October 9, 2015 and is directed by Jon Favreau from a script by Justin Marks.
Murray joins previously announced cast members Christopher Walken (King Louie), Giancarlo Esposito (Akela), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Lupita Nyong’o (Raksha), Idris Elba (Shere Khan), Scarlett Johansson (Kaa) and freshman child actor Neel Sethi as Mowgli.
