6 Point Harness and Toon Boom Animation are teaming up to offer a free, two-day storyboarding workshop for aspiring animators with guest instructor, animator Matt Danner.
The first workshop will take place Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at 6PH’s new Echo Park facility in Los Angeles. A panel of industry professionals will select 30 participants after reviewing the submitted applications, and body of work.
The workshop will entail instruction by Danner, additional guest lecturers and a lesson on Toon Boom’s Storyboard Pro.
After the session, participants will be asked to create groups of three and then each group will be responsible for storyboarding one act of a particular 11-minute script. On March 14, groups will return to 6PH to pitch their project to directors who will provide feedback and notes.
Toon Boom will grant one-month Toon Boom Storyboard Pro licenses so that participants can complete the assignment.
