Fox Orders Animated ‘Botcop’ Presentation

Botcop, an animated comedy from writers Itai Grunfeld and Geoff Barbanell, and executive producer Tracey Katsky, has had a presentation commissioned by Fox.

According to Deadline, the project comes from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, which sold the idea to the network as a live-action comedy. Fox reportedly requested it be rewritten as an animated series idea, hence the commission.

The series is about a cutting-edge police robot from 1985 who makes ends meet in the 21st century as a security guard for a gated community.

The animation will be handled by Bento Box Entertainment (Bob’s Burgers).
