Paramount Global, Park County and South Park Digital Studios today announced an expansive renewal with South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for five years, including 50 new episodes, all 26 previous seasons and extending South Park on Comedy Central and Paramount+ around the world.
The announcement confirms the earlier news that, for the first time ever, Paramount+ will become the U.S. home for the South Park library and all new episodes, kicking off with the new Season 27 debuting on Comedy Central today (July 23) and on Paramount+ tomorrow.
“Matt and Trey are singular, creative forces whose fearless humor and boundary pushing storytelling have made South Park one of the most beloved and enduring series ever — more popular today than at any point in its history, and one of the most valuable TV franchises in the world,” said Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment. “They are exceptional talents and trusted partners — we’re thrilled that Comedy Central and now Paramount+ globally will be the home to South Park for years to come and our thanks to the Skydance team for their vital partnership in making this happen.”
Skydance is in the process of acquiring Paramount Global.

Comedy Central’s South Park launched on August 13, 1997. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the co-creators of South Park. Parker, Stone, Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II are the executive producers of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman are Producers. Christopher Brion is the Creative Director of South Park Digital Studios.
South Park Digital Studios is a joint venture between Paramount Global and Park County, the entertainment company founded by Parker and Stone. It is an animation and development studio dedicated to creating and managing streaming, social and interactive for South Park.
Park County is a multi-platform entertainment company founded by Parker and Stone in 2012. Keith Pizzi serves as CEO and Afshin Beyzaee serves as General Counsel for Park County. In addition to South Park and The Book of Mormon, Park County produces films, develops technology via Deep Voodoo, and operates the theme restaurant Casa Bonita.
