Netflix Shoots for Adult Toon ‘Hoops’

Netflix continues to pile adult-target animated series onto its upcoming slate plate, announcing Wednesday a new 10 x 30’ series titled Hoops, starring Jake Johnson (BoJack Horseman, Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse, New Girl) as the voice of Coach Ben Hopkins. The concept is created, written and executive produced by Ben Hoffman.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and animated by Bento Box (Bob’s Burgers), Hoops centers on a hot-headed, foul-mouthed high school basketball coach who is convinced he’ll finally make the “big leagues” if he can just turn around his god-awful team.

Johnson is also executive producing alongside Phil Lord & Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie), and Seth Cohen.
