Barad Steps Down From Pixar Board

The Dow Jones Business News reports that Jill Barad is stepping down from Pixar’s board of directors. The former chairman of Mattel Inc. has been a director at the digital animation studio since 1997 and has declined the possibility of re-election at the company’s 2002 annual meeting scheduled for Oct. 4.

No reason for Barad’s decision has been made public. Pixar is reportedly looking at potential candidates to fill the eighth board seat left vacant by her exit.
