Siyah Marti & PlayBig Bring ‘Zatonya’ & Upcoming ‘Zero Waste Busters’ to Cannes

At this year’s Marché du Film in Cannes, Turkish animation studio Siyah Marti (animasyon.siyahmarti.com), together with French film sales outfit PlayBig (playbigfilm.com), will present the market screening of the animated family feature Zatonya as well as the first-look promo presentation of the upcoming eco-comedy Zero Waste Busters.

The market screening of Zatonya will take place on Friday, May 16 at 6:15 PM at Palais I, introducing global buyers to a hilarious and heartwarming 3D adventure that blends fantasy, slapstick comedy, and satire. The film follows the eccentric inventor Sırrı and the quirky residents of the town of Zatonya, who are accidentally transported into a dazzling futuristic world where chaos, invention, and laughter collide.

Zero Waste Busters

Cannes buyers will get an exclusive promo preview of Zero Waste Busters — a high-energy, eco-conscious animated adventure led by three unlikely heroes on a remote island: Moni, Dako and Hipo. As they battle pollution and the nefarious schemes of villainous businessman Baron Buzzard, this fun and timely film aims to inspire young audiences around the world with humor, action and a strong environmental message. The full feature is slated for release in November 2025.

PlayBig has been appointed international sales agent for both titles, as well as for the entire catalog of Siyah Martı Animation Studios, including the acclaimed Nasreddin Hodja series, Captain Pengu and upcoming titles from the T.A.Y. historical franchise.

“We are thrilled to be representing the vibrant, diverse, and globally relevant slate from Siyah Martı,” said Frédéric Puech, Founder of PlayBig. “From wild comedies to thought- provoking eco-adventures, these films strike a rare balance between cultural authenticity, global themes, and pure entertainment.”
