Monsters Scares Up Record Video Sales

Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.. sold 5 million units on DVD and video in North America on the first day of release, breaking the record of $4.5 million held by The Lion King.

Monsters, Inc. trails The Lion King as the second highest-grossing animated film in box-office history. If sales continue to live up to the smash debut, the Oscar-nominated CG romp will be one of the year’s top selling videos as well.
